This photo of a rock is an example of extreme close-up photography that can be accomplished with a set of nifty macro filters. Three individual filters screw on to the end of your prime lens closing in on your subject by 1X, 2X and 4X. They can all be stacked to achieve the maximum macro affect. I would love to own a macro lens, but they are very expensive and I really cannot justify the expense for no more macro photography than I do. These little gems, however, were around $40 – very affordable. Stronger filters are available in you want to be closer to the subject and pay a little more.  More information about the Promaster Close-up Filter Set is available on an earlier post. https://lisahurstphotography.wordpress.com/2012/06/16/macro-filter-set-is-very-budget-friendly/
