Happy Easter 🙂

Easter is drawing near. Time for some bunny cuteness.

I raise rabbits and every year, I have a lot of people who want to use them as “props” for Easter pictures. Fortunately, most of my rabbits are very tame and agree to being used in such a way.

For this shot, I gathered leaves in the fall and laid them in a cookie pan, filled it with water and froze the whole thing. When the ice block was removed from the pan, propped it in a well-lit window and shot several shots with the tripod and remote release because the shutter was slow. I can’t wait until spring to try this with some green leaves and flowers. 🙂

This close-up was taken using a homemade light table (a piece of frosted glass over a light bulb). I laid the pine sprig on the table and mounted my camera on a tripod and attached the remote release to allow for plenty of shutter speed. I had all three of my micro filters on the end of my lens.

Another attempt at food photography. I think it would look better if the bowl had been a complementary color instead of white.

Spring is in the air, hopefully.

I have recently gotten interested in food photography. Using my range hood as a light source, I placed the fruit on a cutting board and mounted my camera on a tri-pod because I knew the shutter speed would be slow on AV setting. I had to manually focus because my auto focus wasn’t focusing where I wanted it to. More examples in coming posts.

Keep trying new things 🙂

Aw nuts! An owl face 🙂

This picture was taken over the summer. It’s hard to take any new shots here, because IT’S STILL SNOWING!

Beautiful books.

Covers of books don’t have the same intricate patterns on them anymore. I composed this still life at work of some old treasures.

As I got out the other day to get my mail shortly after a rain, I noticed that a spider had provided a base for a nice water droplet sculpture.

Take time to look around, beauty is everywhere 🙂
